What's In Store For MySQL-Tips Blog

The first few posts on this blog are directly related to the "Who's Visiting My Blogsite?" question posed in both my GeoPlotting and Perl-Tips blogs.

The mySQL code that will be present here in the near future represents info for the following sub-problems for "Who's Visiting My Blogsite":

  1. IP and Hostname
  2. Country Codes and Approximate Locations (Latitude/Longitude)
  3. IP To Country Code - Supplementary Information
  4. City/Country Database and Approximate City Locations (Latitude/Longitude)
  5. IP To City - Supplementary Information

Please be patient. These blog posts take a few days to research, test, write and edit. I'll try to post once or twice a week for now, and attempt a higher frequency of postings in the future. Please feel free to post a comment, with any questions related to the Internet problems posed here and in my programming blogs.

MySQL-Tips Blog Starts

This blog has two purposes:

(1) To present SQL code, specifically for MySQL, for Internet-related programming problems that I solve in one of my programming blogs, including Perl-Tips
(2) To discuss techniques for improving MySQL database usage and data storage in general.

Note that this blog is not intended as an introduction to SQL or MySQL.
